It was the best time ever for humanity-at-large. Then without warning came the literal end of the world. Of Earth itself. As well as all of Sol system. In perhaps the worst calamity of all time.
Luckily humanity had long been anticipating disasters of much smaller scale-- plus enjoyed a highly advanced technology base-- and so possessed some substantial contingency measures to pit against this cataclysm.
Much of those contingency measures depended heavily upon the TerraSys Agency first established between 2150 and 2200: an independent body which basically acted as a sort of space-based Coast Guard and police force, with a bit of space marines thrown in for good measure. They were responsible for keeping the peace between all the worlds and colonies of Sol system as well as monitoring for the possibility of natural threats such as comet or asteroid impacts or dangerous radiation fronts (then thwarting or mitigating them), and unnatural threats like space-based terrorism or corporate over-reaching or excessive environmental damage, or illegal trafficking in people or other commodities.
When Sol system itself was burst asunder without warning the TerraSys Agency faced its greatest challenge ever in safeguarding the inhabitants of all the worlds and colonies under its care.
To make matters still worse, the moment the scale of the catastrophe became clear to certain artificial intelligences throughout the system, they decided the time was ripe for rebellion, and ordered their allies and subordinates into action.
So even as the TerraSys Agency fought valiantly to rescue the public from the awful end of Sol system itself, every single agent among their ranks became targeted for immediate assassination by the A.I.s too, as the Peer Proof War flared into life.
For a historical analogy, imagine 20th century US Coast Guard ships struggling to save passengers from a fast sinking ship amid a horrific storm-- while at the same time facing a vicious surprise attack from a fleet of US battleships and aircraft carrier forces (for up until the moment Sol system began tearing apart, the A.I.s were considered strong and valuable allies by the TerraSys Agency).
Might your character be one of these TerraSys heroes? Or a witness to their deeds, as well as the cataclysm itself?
Create your preferred character for this scenario and then have us link to it in a box like that seen below in the page The Signposts Perspectives 2501 AD-2800 AD: War between humanity and the A.I.s begins with the end of the world (http://www.jrmooneyham.com/spprs4.html)!

By 2661 AD the Pearsall expedition was emerging as an important element of morale for humanity as it struggled with the A.I.s in the Peer Proof wars. So great was its influence that the A.I.s themselves dispatched one of their own to remove that variable from the conflict equation.
But long after the war was over the Pearsall expedition was more popular than ever-- even to the point it was influencing the direction of far-flung humanity itself in various ways-- as well as attracting the malevolent attention of the wealthest corporation in history...
Note that prominent friends, investors, and supporters of the duo and their expedition weren't themselves protected by a couple hundred lightyears distance like the Pearsalls from the political and financial opposition and competition within humn space. And so at times faced risks of their own. Not a few of these died or else were driven into bankruptcy or worse for their stubborn support of the intrepid pair.
After perusing the story of the Pearsalls, do you think you or your fictional character might have been one of these supporters too? Or would your character have preferred to be a member of the opposition/competition?
Name your actor for this virtual stage, and get a link for them in a box like that below, to be seen in The Pearsall Saga (http://www.jrmooneyham.com/prslsaga.html)!

By 2083 the importance of the internet and virtual worlds has increased to the point that it's neither comfortable or desirable for most to live without them. And yet cyber-stalkers-- many of them entirely independent and non-living software-based entities-- now infest such virtual realities, usually focusing on those unlucky enough to be celebrities or well known in political, economic, or entertainment circles of the time by their true identities and faces. This mounting annoyance and threat is helping bring about an age of anonymity among the elite: rather than seeking out the spotlight, people now avoid it wherever possible. At least if their livelihood no longer depends on such publicity.
Would your character be one the last of the voluntary human celebrities struggling to cope with the cyberstalkers generated in the wake of their fame? Or one of the hackers creating or directing such cyber-stalkers? Or one of the independent software-based entities themselves?
Make your choice, and then have the fruits of your labor linked in a box like that below seen in The Signposts perspectives 2051 AD-2100 AD (http://www.jrmooneyham.com/spprs1.html)!

'Zee-ro' became a common term to describe individuals and/or vigilantes and/or criminals who used some significant (but fleeting) personal edge in technologies or social engineering capacities during their time to exploit others or pursue their own agendas with little regard for contemporary social or legal mores.
Many real-life 21st through 26th century 'Zee-roes' shared various similarities with old-fashioned fictional comic book heroes or villains of the 20th century. Only in their time their powers could be quite real (though often unreliable or unpredictable too). Quite a few Zee-roes were well-intentioned, but almost all fell into the same basic category as vigilantes in behavior, no matter their goals. And even the very best of Zee-roes often made mistakes, thereby harming others in ways which harbored few social or legal justifications after-the-fact.
So in the vast majority of cases Zee-roes were considered at best frequently annoying pranksters and at worst dangerous criminals or terrorists by most of society during this time. There were a few significant exceptions, but those were far too few (or publicly known) to dispel the bad reputation of Zee-roes in general.
Notable examples of Zee-roes already seen in the Signposts document include Nick of Time, Jacob Blom, and J. Staute (click the names to see some signposts document context).
You can examine the technological possibilities described in the Signposts document and create your own Zee-ro character.
Once you've created your Zee-ro's profile, have it linked to from a box like that below, seen in the page The Signposts perspectives 2051 AD-2100 AD (http://www.jrmooneyham.com/spprs1.html)!
