BACK to Story cameos...

So what cameo slots are currently available for you to choose from? There's three kinds.

#1: Main or central characters (the top stars or heroes in the tales).
#2: Supporting characters (everyone else of a human nature in the stories).
#3: Supplemental characters, objects, projects, missions, etc. (entities made up entirely by you)

#1: Main or central characters.

These include people like Jerry Staute the supercar driver, who eventually ends up on a time traveling vessel and more. And the Pearsalls (Al and Liz), who become the most famous private deep space explorers of all time.

As of March 2007, Jerry's the star of all the stories linked from The journals of Jerry Staute, which includes the many chapters of the science fiction epic The Chance of a Realtime, and the multiple accounts of The Shadowfast supercar driver logs.

The supercar driver accounts all take place in 1970s America, while most of The Chance of a Realtime consists of a time-traveling adventure spanning many centuries ahead of the present day.

Al and Liz Pearsall are the stars of The Battle for Pearsalls' Grit, which is one of the grandest installments of The Pearsall saga to date. The Pearsall stories are of a science fiction nature, largely occurring in deep space, and quite a few centuries into the future from today.

Choose one of these three: Jerry Staute, Al Pearsall, or Liz Pearsall-- and the story you like best for them-- and we'll replace that character in the single story or chapter you select. Then give your customized account its own internet address, and send that address to you for you to share with whomever you like.

We will also announce the existence and web address of your new cameo in our latest site updates log-- unless you specifically tell us not to.

The individual Staute supercar stories typically run between one and three web pages in length. The Battle for Pearsalls' Grit is a two pager. The online epic The Chance of a Realtime consists of many chapters (maybe three hard copy books worth). As of early 2007 you may choose a single supercar story, or single chapter from the novel, for your cameo.

Not only will we replace the main/central character of the story you select with your own chosen name, but as mentioned elsewhere you may have your name be clickable too, leading those who are interested either to your own independent web site, or providing your email address to them for contact (the clickable element is optional with all cameos).

CAVEAT: Please note that as all the stories involving Jerry Staute are written in the first person, not all of them explicitly name Staute. And so will not be amenable to name replacement.

So you should be sure to pick a tale which displays the name you wish to replace-- and does so with a frequency you like. For that's where your name would be.

For your convenience, here's a list of supercar stories we've found to display Jerry Staute's name with sufficient frequency for cameo replacement purposes:

Too close for comfort (also known as A Halloween to remember): Jerry Staute is also referred to here at times as "Jere'" by Dana Connor.

Heartbreaker

Daytona 2.0: Between a Ferrari and a hard place

Individual chapters of The Chance of a Realtime suitable for main character replacement:

In some spots Jerry Staute is referred to in the novel as "G.W. Staute", for his full name of Gerald Walter Staute.

Chapter one: Something different

Chapter two: Learning the ropes

Chapter three: Drafted

Chapter ten: Sol mate

Chapter eleven: Fractures

Chapter thirteen: A fantasy of chaos

Later episodes in the saga of Jerry Staute, suitable for main/central character name replacement include:

My first day in the afterlife

Main/central characters in The Battle for Pearsalls' Grit:

Al Pearsall (husband/adventurer/explorer/spacecraft and mining engineer/smuggler in his youth)

Liz (or Elizabeth) Pearsall (wife/adventurer/explorer/award-winning math whiz/software engineer/navigator)

Want to see an example of a main or central character cameo? Let's say your name is Jack Ettleston, and you want Daytona 2.0: Between a Ferrari and a hard place for your main/central character cameo (your name replacing Jerry Staute's). Your customized story would look like this.

Note that in the case of supercar stories like these, you also get your name in the introduction page link (if you're replacing the main/central character).

#2: Supporting characters.

These include folks like Steve Roberts, Dana Connor, Bridget Dufay, Lindsay Finch, Ling Chen, and others to be seen in the stories. Pretty much anyone and everyone named in the stories who are (or appear to be) human beings from a 20th century point of view-- and NOT a MAIN/CENTRAL character as defined above.

Characters which are decidedly NOT human (or not alive) from a rudimentary 20th century perspective-- such as non-biological machines like Riki, Arbitur, Shadowfast, Thantia, and Symantici-- are NOT replaceable characters though. Sorry!

Supporting characters might or might not possess an active or speaking role in a given story. In some cases they may only be thought of or talked about, or described from memory or observation.

Examples of some supporting characters and the stories wherein they play significant roles are:

In the list of supercar tales, the supporting characters range from best friends and girl friends, through competitors and villains of various types.

Supporting characters of Slip, sliding away suitable for replacement cameos include:

Steve Roberts (hero's best friend)
Lindsay Finch (combination femme fatale and damsel in distress)
Dwayne Rogers (driver/owner of a 1964 GTO raced in the account)

Too close for comfort includes Dana Connor (the hero's female best friend and eventual girl friend), and Steve Roberts (the hero's male best friend).

The Daytona 1200: Steve Roberts (the hero's best friend and a racing opponent) and Mike Martin (the hero's primary racing opponent in this account).

Too close to the bone: Steve Roberts (the hero's best friend/college room-mate, and co-traveler in a jaunt to Texas for a summer job)

When push came to shove: Briggs (bad cop nemesis to the hero in a race to the death)

Shadowfast versus the tornados (also known as Tornado Alley): Alley Benton (Texas woman unfortunate enough to be caught by mother nature riding with the hero; and mother was in a foul mood that day).

Heartbreaker includes Bridget Dufay (who first briefly dates Steve, then becomes the hero's girlfriend), Steve Roberts (hero's best friend), and Paul Kimmel (an old and abusive ex-boyfriend of Bridget's, whom the hero must confront in the story).

Breaking up: Sergeant Whittaker (hero's military instructor who goes off the deep end, forcing the hero to stop him by force) and Steve Roberts (hero's best friend and fellow college ROTC student)

Ring of fire includes Charley Sowders (ten year old boy who proves instrumental in saving his family from a massacre, with the hero's help).

Daytona 2.0: Between a Ferrari and a hard place: Steve Roberts (hero's best friend). Reggie Carson (Jaguar owner, raced the hero in a previous meeting). Jason Carson (Ferrari owner and brother to Reggie, races hero here).

What goes around...: Roddy Grooms (drug dealer, gang leader, all-around bad guy who-- after being annoyed by the hero a couple times-- orchestrates a massive running ambush from which the hero must escape). Headhunter/Tom Reynolds (Headhunter is a CB handle or alias; Reynolds is a Special Operations military man, driving a Camaro Z-28, who comes to the aid of the beleaguered hero). Gannon (disgraced US commando who's become a hit-man for Roddy); Cal Birkin/Caleb Birkin (a general local bad-ass the hero had once been somewhat chums with, but here Caleb is being paid to help capture or kill the hero).

Nowhere to go but up: Dennis Askew (a co-worker of the hero's, in a dangerous job escorting V.I.P.s between cities by car; Dennis was a chauffeur here, but a professional stunt driver too; Dennis and the hero suffer a running ambush and traitorous co-workers, and find they alone are all that stand between their V.I.P charge and death or kidnapping).

Supporting characters in the online science fiction epic The Chance of a Realtime

The supporting cast of certain chapters of The Chance of a Realtime includes Steve Roberts (the hero's best friend) and Ling Chen (beautiful time-traveling scientist/explorer, instrumental in kidnapping the hero; also the hero's teacher and girlfriend along the way). More specifically:

Prologue: Critical mass: Steve Roberts (hero's best friend and corporate boss here, in 1990)

Chapter one: Something different: Steve Roberts (hero's 1972 college room mate and best friend) and Ling Chen

Chapter two: Learning the ropes: Ling Chen.

Chapter three: Drafted: Ling Chen.

Chapter four: Navigator: Ling Chen.

Chapter six: The farthest reaches: Ling Chen.

Chapter thirteen: A fantasy of chaos: Ling Chen.

Chapter eighteen: The siege of the seventh palace. Kurellian (one of the most powerful mortals in the land; a leader; adept in certain kinds of magic). Phylata (nymph; daughter of a mythological god come-to-life; occasional lover to Kurellian).

Kurellian and Phylata are actually regular human beings with their minds trapped in an illegal virtual reality of immense size and complexity. Neither are aware of their true natures, and may only play out the parts they have been given. Or at least that's what the master of the V.R. thinks...

Later episodes in the saga of Jerry Staute, suitable for supporting character name replacement, include:

My first day in the afterlife: supporting character: Bridget Dufay (the hero's long lost love, reunited with the hero at last in the afterlife).

Select your supporting character and the story in which they are present or frequently mentioned, and we'll replace them with a name of your own choosing there.

#3 type of cameo slot available: insertion of supplemental characters, objects, projects, missions, etc.

These are people (or other entities) which exist on the periphery of the existing stories on site, or are possible within the broader framework of the timeline and perpectives. They are NOT already named in the existing text-- though they may be referred to indirectly in spots. You have much more freedom to define these elements-- even determining their names and places in the scheme of things (so long as such placement does not materially conflict with existing story lines-- or else does so in a different and parallel universe, with a statement to that effect at the beginning of your own page text). These supplemental entities can be living or dead, human or machine, or other. Etc. (so long as they'll fit into the existing plot framework somehow).

A supplemental entity basically appears as a boxed link on OUR site, which will take surfers to YOUR web site when clicked upon (or you can have a click send your email address to the reader's default email program for contact, instead).

Such links will be grouped together on OUR page most relevant to their theme, inside a color-highlighted box.

Such boxes will resemble the one below (note that the links below are for illustration purposes only, here linked merely to the same page you're reading):

Ovizatataron's list of unsung 21st century heroes from chapter twenty-two of The Chance of a Realtime

The historic heroes-- unrecognized by their own generation-- which the dying Ovizatataron urges Staute to aid as best he can during the 21st century

| B. J. Lee | Leon Waxman | Philip Beckmann | Gianni Vecchiato |

Build a legend

Note that supplemental characters DON'T get their own web address as main/central and supporting characters do. Instead, they are grouped in the aforementioned boxes on the appropriate original site pages.
